7/14/2010 NEWBURGH TO POUGHKEEPSIE

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BARBARA FEINGOLD

Our voyage from Newburgh was short and uneventful before we reached the new Shadows Marina and restaurant in Poughkeepsie. They have only been open a few months and are still working on the facilities but it will soon be a “hot” spot on the Hudson.

Richard and Barbara had left Steven’s car at Glo’s, Barbara’s mother, and she graciously came to our assistance in retrieving it. Thanks Glo for parking privileges and taxi service!!

Craig and Alexis Porter arrived in the late afternoon just in time to say “Hi” and “Good bye” to Steven as he returned to Vermont and work at an OMYA shut-down tomorrow morning

We had no floating bridges to ogle today but we did have some passing barges and this group of women practicing their rowing skills.

Charles Parness showed up on the 7:00 Amtrak and joined us for the first time on Quest. We all had a wonderful dinner at the Shadows Restaurant before crashing for the night.
