ANCHORED AT RUDDER CUT CAY

SUNRISE IN THE EXUMAS: 6: 45 AM

SUNSET IN THE EXUMAS: 5:26 PM

It was a busy morning on the Quest today. The boys were up and enjoying the marina’s showers shortly after 6:00, our laundry was in their big machines by 6:30 and the boys were off in Bernice Marshall’s taxi by 7:30 for their 9:15 flight to Nassau. Laundry was done and the blog posted by 9:30 and we were off to the market. By noon we were pulling out of the Marina at Emerald Bay and cruising in the Sound.

STEVEN AND ANDREW HEADING OUT
Dan put a fishing line out and, boom! Barracuda! We cut him loose and within minutes we had snagged another one. Barracuda are one of the reef fish that are known to carry Ciguatera, a naturally occurring toxin that is passed along the food chain and can affect us humans with a variety of symptoms. I prefer not to chance it!

BARRACUDA

Talk about a peaceful anchorage! After making the cut back to the Bank side we anchored just off Rudder Cut Cay in VERY shallow and calm waters. We could see the bottom through the shimmering ripples.
