MAKING LIKE A YOYO IN THE EXUMAS

ANCHORED AT BIG MAJORS

SUNRISE IN THE EXUMAS: 6: 45 AM

SUNSET IN THE EXUMAS: 5:28 PM

The water was like glass this morning, mirroring the clouds in the sky. You can get an idea of the clarity from the picture of the anchor that sat about 6 ft. down.

THE ANCHOR CHAIN AND ANCHOR, CLEARLY VISABLE FROM THE DECK

Heading back to Big Majors we made a quick stop for more of Lorraine’s mom’s fantastic coconut bread in Black Point and met up with Julie and the girls (from S/V Cee Jem) finishing up their wash at Rockside Laundry.

As we rounded the corner at Big Majors we were amazed at the site before us. Mega yachts Pacific and 7 Seas were stationed way out and the anchorage was packed. When we took the tender over to Staniel we found mass chaos there. The dock was crammed with yachts of every size and folks were all over the place. Last night was the Pirate Party, tonight is another party of some sort and New Years Eve will bring yet another gala. Whoopee!

PACIFIC AND 7 SEAS ANCHORED

We got what we needed from the Isles General Store, snagged some ice from the marina and fought our way back to Quest for a more peaceful evening. Paying a trip to the beach we found Janie and Jim on M/V Pirate had brought and assembled a wooden picnic table for the use of all the cruisers that stop here. What a nice thing to do!
