2/3/2011 RUDDER CUT CAY BACK TO LITTLE FARMERS CAY

THURSDAY

TOTAL MILES TRAVELED TODAY: 8 NM

Since tomorrow is the “big day” back in Little Farmers Cay, we covered the few necessary miles and made our way back to the dock. Whoa! As we rounded the corner and entered into the calm cay waters, we found tons of boats anchored or moored in anticipation of tomorrow’s festivities. The truly eerie thing was that two of the sailboats be wound past were from Vermont. White Seal’s family hails from Ferrisburgh and Wings comes from Charlotte. Now, during our entire journey we have met no other boating Vermonters outside of Vermont itself or Canada.

A FEW OF THE MOORED OR ANCHORED BOATS

Happy hour brought maybe 50 boaters together at the dock. There were dingys tied up or beached everywhere. Everyone is keyed up for tomorrow’s regatta and all the trimmings. It seems that the boat transporting all the “C” class sailboats, sailing crews and spectators will dock just across from us tomorrow morning. Looks like we will be right in the thick of things.
