2/2/2011 STOCKING ISLAND TO RUDDER CUT CAY

WEDNESDAY

TOTAL MILES TRAVELED TODAY: 35 NM

After listening to the 8:10 Cruisers Net on the VHF radio, getting all the scoop for the day as well as days to come, we made our way to the lovely Emerald Bay Marina at the Sandals Resort at the north end of Great Exuma Island. We took on fuel here and made plans to dock here when the Wragas arrive at the George Town airport on 2/12. What a beautiful place! They have a non-service dock (no water and power) that charges only $1.00/foot and you have a the run of the beautiful clubhouse, laundry and elegant showers! I’m in!!

Dan finally drug me out and we continued our journey until we made the crossing back to the bank side through Rudder Cut. We anchored off the private island of Rudder Cut Cay that is home to the airstrip for David Copperfield’s private island, Musha Cay.

We dinked into this cave then found several starfish along the private beaches. Snorkeling around the Quest we were on the lookout for sea life but found only sea grass.

HOW COOL IT THIS??

We were able to enjoy the day’s closing with a sunset over waters, unobstructed by other boaters, islands or buildings.
