Dan and I rode our new bicycles over the Cortez Bridge to Bradenton Beach on Anna Maria Island for a quick breakfast.  We passed several beautiful sand sculptures on the beach as we rode cruised by.

John and Debbie picked Dan up for a ½ day of fishing.  They shivered in the cold wind for four hours, catching maybe 20 fish but only five big enough to keep. Dan caught the biggest fish, a grouper, but it wasn’t large enough to keep. Debbie’s snapper was the largest keeper. A good time was had by all and we will have fish for dinner tomorrow night.

ARE WE WARM YET?

Joann and I did some shopping and decided that the weekends prior to Christmas were not a good time to venture out to the stores.

Our evening’s activity was rather on the “unusual” side. The five of us spent the evening at the Dog Track, dining in the club house and betting heavily ($2.00 bets were the norm). Our betting criteria was based a little on the dog’s running statistics but were mostly based on the names and just how cute the dogs were.
