TOTAL MILES TRAVELED TODAY: 25 NM
As Soon as our morning chores were completed we jumped into the dingy and headed to the research center to make our contribution for the use of their mooring ball. They are woefully underfunded and in desperate need of some grant writing assistance. This being their “down season” there were only a few people working. During the busy times they have many graduate students in attendance.

Back on Quest, we let go of the mooring ball and headed south again, passing by Perry’s Peak (the highest peak in the Exumas) before making the crossing to the Sound at Rat Cut.
PERRYS PEAK (KIND OF LIKE KELLINGTON? NOT SO MUCH!) |
Holy Cow!! What’s with the wind? Again, things were shifting and anything not secured went flying. I just sat myself down on the floor and enjoyed the ride.
We cut back into the smoother waters of Elizabeth Harbor, nestled between Stocking Island to the east and Great Exuma Island to the west. We dropped anchor just off George Town’s Kidd Cove and dinked under the little bridge and into The Pond (Lake Victoria) to the dingy dock provide by the Exuma Market. We found the bank, ducked into the market to check out it wares and strolled around before heading back to Quest for the evening.
