TOTAL MILES TRAVELED TODAY: 22 NM
We completed our “getting ready to cast off” chores, paid our bill, made plans to return next Thursday or Friday then pulled out of charming Little Farmers Cay. We had decided to travel the Exuma Sound today but that desire was short lived as we were tossed around like a rag doll. As soon as we approached the Galliot Cut, we made the turn and headed back to the calmer Bank side. Now this seemed like an excellent idea until we started traveling the really shallow waters and had to creep at around 5 knots. We never hit but it sure was shallow!
SHALLOW BUT BEAUTIFUL WATERS |
Passing Musha Cay, the private island resort owned by magician David Copperfield, we ogled the gorgeous rental villas. Most all of these little cays are privately owned by a corporation or some rich and famous celebrity.

WHAT A CAPTIVATING SETTING ON MUSHA CAY |
Slowly we made our way to Lee Stocking Cay and moored to one of the balls offered there. This island is home to Caribbean Marine Research Center, one of NOAA’s National Undersea Research agencies. We hope to get permission to go ashore tomorrow and take advantage of the periodic tours offered. Perry’s Peak, the highest peak in the Exuma Cays is also located here.
