6/8/2010 DOCKSIDE TO BEAUFORT, NC

DAN'S NEW QUEST HAT

Steven came by to bid us farewell before Quest headed out of the bay and into the sea for the day’s journey. I snapped this photo of Steven’s next new abode (as of next week). He will be renting a room at this #10 house and sharing the home with the owner’s son, someone Steven met at UNCW. Nice!

STEVEN'S FUTURE ABODE

We skirted the Camp Lejeune firing range area (marked by these yellow buoys) and enjoyed a peaceful day on the sea. That was until Dan woke us all up when he hooked a Dorado and brought it in for our dinner. Is he not great?

DINNER

We spied the Cape Lookout Lighthouse on the most Southern tip of the Outer Banks and passed by the flag flying at Fort Macon before moseying into quaint little Beaufort, NC where we were welcomed by 2 dockhands and guided into our slip for the night.

Our Dorado dinner was, of course, fantastic and we enjoyed the view for Quest’s deck. This is really a cute place with tons of things within walking distance.

NIGHT APROACHING

We kind of paced out our weeks expected itinerary and gave Richard and Charlene directions to meet us on Sunday in Norfolk, VA as we enter the Chesapeake.
