TARDY! BETTER LATE THAN NEVER! THAT'S A WRAP!

OK, so this has been a long, long break.  I left off blogging as Quest pulled out of Fernandina, Florida and crossed into Georgia on April 29, 2013.  That day we made it to Golden Isles Marina at St. Simons Island and the following morning we groped our way through the blanketing fog and made it to Thunderbolt for our last night in Georgia.  After one night in beautiful Beaufort, South Carolina we arrived at Isle of Palm Marina and prepared Quest to go it alone for a few days while Dan and I flew from Charleston to Vermont to take care of a little business.

On May 8th our daughter, Erin, flew in from Kauai and met us as we returned to the Charleston airport.  Just like clockwork, we all arrived within 20 minutes of each other and Erin was finally introduced to our Quest.  What a treat it was to heave her with us!!  Even though she lives in Hawaii she was eager to explore the Georgia shore so we did a little beach-combing that evening then prepared for the morning move on to one of our favorite anchorages, Minim Creek.  Friday found us at Barefoot Landing in Myrtle Beach then Saturday we headed for our planned stop in Southport, NC.

"HERE'S LOOKING AT YOU, KID"

Erin was unaware that Steven, her youngest brother, would be surprising her by joining us there.  However, I rather messed up this elaborate plan by ending up in the hospital with pancreatitis for four days.  Just before they carted me off I managed to let her know that our trip to the hospital was not the only surprise and that Steven would meet us there.  It was so wonderful having Erin there with me, what a comfort she is!  Steven did skirt her away for a while to introduce her to some of his Wilmington friends and give her a tour of UNCW.  She surely got cheated on her trip but I was most grateful to have her there.

Quest was introduced to Cape Fear Marina that was to be her home for the summer,  Erin flew home, I was sprung from the  hospital and Dan and I made our way home to Vermont..

Our busy summer was filled with some exciting times on the business front.  Queston, Inc. was formed, the property was secured, the government agencies dealt with, and our first investors joined the team.  Whew!!!
