Well, we are finally back on our much loved Quest after a quick trip back to Vermont to wrap up some business dealings then an excursion to Spain. We flew to
Barcelona for a couple of days of exploration before moving on to Mallorca for a week. In Barcelona we meandered through the Casa Batallo` that exemplifies Gaudi’s whimsy and penchant for curvy lines. His forty year tenure as project director on the magnificent
Sagrada Familia is evident in every nook and cranny, every tower and pillar. This project began in 1882 and is still under construction to this day. We did take time out to sample some of Spain’s great paella at a lovely port-side restaurant before jetting on to Mallorca.

Our home for the following week was in Font de sa Cala on the northeast coast of the island. Our view was breathtaking!

We shopped during market day in Arta, dined in
Capdepera’s Orient, visited a couple of wineries, maneuvered the windy mountain roads to the western shore and road the charming tram from Solier to the port before spending a day in
Palma, the capital, and returning to Barcelona.

By some fluke of chance, Sam happened to be participating in a tennis tournament in Valencia so, of course, we made some adjustments to our itinerary and drove on down to watch two of his matches. The impressive
Ciudad De Las Artes Y Las Ciencias (City of Arts and Sciences) was home to the tournament and we marveled at its magnificence. Luckily we were able to watch Sam win his match over Tsonga before having to drive back to Barcelona for our flight back to the US.
