TOTOAL MILES TRAVELED TODAY: 0 NM
Fort Lauderdale’s version of “Art-In-The-Park” occurred this weekend on Las Olas Blvd. and we did our part. We poked our heads into the numerous booths along the blocked off street and saw many beautiful pieces but our limited space makes collecting much of anything nearly impossible. I did find a great little leather purse that I was unable to resist.

Next we got the bikes and rode to Fort Lauderdale Beach, turned south and had lunch in a little fish place perched on one of the canals. We were one of the lucky outside diners that were undercover as the skies opened up and dumped buckets of water on the scampering diners. After lunch we managed to make a little progress in our journey before the next deluge arrived. This time we sought refuge in a really big Ace Hardware store, slowly investigating each aisle’s stock. When the rain let up this time we pointed our noses towards home and peddled like the devil. Whew! We made it and stayed fairly dry.

The remainder of our day was spent trying to recuperate from our long ride. Dan found that today’s NASCAR race was just what he needed! We ended our evening watching “Forrest Gump” for the first time ever. I can’t believe we never saw it before.
Cute dog!! You never have watched Forrest Gump...seriously!?! That's just crazy! Please don't tell me you haven't watched The Shawshank Redemption either...? There are just some movies EVERYBODY has seen (mostly because they have been on TV for several years now).
