TOTAL MILES TRAVELED TODAY: 2 NM
After watching the Nassau to George Town Ferry arrive, we dinked under the bridge and into the Pond where we tied up to the Exuma Market’s ding dock. We were able to hook to the WI-FI and post two days of the Blog while settling down on the curb in front of the bank. We snagged a few things from the Exuma Market then found some local tomatoes and bananas from the lady in front of the “straw market”.

Back on Quest we pulled up anchor and traveled the “blink of an eye” hop over to Stocking Island and plopped down in front of Honeymoon Beach. This area that encompasses George Town and the many anchorages of Stocking Island becomes the winter home to hundreds of boats. Activities abound; volleyball is a serious pastime by non-serious players, yoga occurs in the morning, card and board games are a popular pastime, boat related seminars happen frequently and the sharing of boating tails can be heard all over the beach. Some of these people have coming here for years and years.
We made ourselves at home by the Chill and Chat bar and restaurant, bought lunch from the Conch Salad Shack and Dan even joined in a volleyball game.

While exploring in the dingy we came upon a couple of interesting boats. First, the best name yet was on a lovely catamaran. It was dubbed the “DOUBLE WIDE”. Too, too funny! Next we found another 53’ Hatteras named Bout Time. When we came up alongside her, owners Ron and Charm peeked their heads out to visit with us. When they found out we were on Quest, Ron said he knew all about our “one of a kind, no-fly bridge” Hatteras from the Hatteras Forum. Guess news of our oddball precedes us. They came on board Quest for cocktails and more stories about all our journeys. Thanks for some good tips!
